Session Locations – I have lots of ideas for session locations, and several go-to spots (natural or urban) that I love, and we’ll explore those options upon booking. Sessions can be booked just about anywhere, from the beach, to a park or garden, and even downtown. If you have a favorite spot in town, definitely let me know so we can explore that idea together. Be sure to check out the gallery links above for more location inspiration.
Scheduling – Sessions generally book 1 to 2 months in advance. If you are interested in scheduling a newborn session, please contact me before your baby is born. The best time to photograph a newborn is in the first two weeks.
What to Wear – Once your session is booked, I’ll provide plenty of information and recommendations on session styling and wardrobe selection. For more information, check out my Pinterest What to Wear Board.
What to Expect – My sessions are very casual and relaxed. You can expect me to show up in my favorite pair of flip flops and a diet coke in hand. I love getting to know the people and families I photograph, so don’t be concerned when I immediately chat up your family and kids right off the bat.
I’m all about evoking feeling and capturing both the love and people in the moment, and fusing it with a more traditional style. And my photography is NOT about stuffy, unnatural, or stiff photos. That is SO not my thing. I will take the lead and place you in a very loose pose, and ask you questions to evoke real emotion.
With in-home newborn sessions, I start off the session by walking around your home in search of the best light. I’ve been known to rearrange a room or two of furniture. Hey, whatever it takes to capture the best photos, right?!
After your session, you can expect approximately 30 unique, digitally enhanced images in an online proofing gallery.
